From the Scattered Hearts Team, Tina S.’s Adorable and Functional Rolodex Project

I am SO excited about this adorable project that Miss Ginger Dots herself, Tina S., taught to the Scattered Hearts Team at the Regional Celebration this past weekend! It is so stinkin‘ adorable and will make a fabulous addition to my office area. How cute is this?! This is mine that I finished for the class. Amazing use of scraps as long as they are at least four inches long!

Now, of course, I had to use the Grace paper to make another version! You know how I adore that Grace kit! And here it is! I love this one and just goes to show you, when you have a great instructor and her instruction sheet, you can always make it your own!

Stay tuned, because I will be making two more choices for you to check out. I think I may break down and make a Kansas State version for you students and K-State Alumni! (Just remember, I am a Hawkeye deep down!).

~Tips and Techniques~

I like to thread my buttons with Hemp or Waxy Flax rather than leaving them plain. I also like to use the buttons or brads in the middle of flowers to give them extra texture. You can sand or ink buttons to give them an antique look. You can also chalk the tips of the flowers with a brown colored chalk to give them dimension.

I like to sew with Embroidery Floss on many of my projects to give them texture and a home spun feel. To bling up my projects, I use Sparkles, Metal Accessories, and ribbon.
